Ruth Williamson Carl, 95, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Friday October 13, 2017 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born April 6, 1922 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Martin L. and Lillie (Noble) Williamson, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Dutch” Carl in 1969; seven brothers, Carl Noble, Martin L. Williamson, Jr., John Edward “Jack” Williamson, Clarence Williamson, Robert Henry Williamson, George William “Bill” Williamson, and Richard Donald Williamson; and an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Williamson.
Ruth and her late husband were the owners and operators of the former Humble Gas Station in Wintersville, OH; she worked at boring mill machine shop in East Liverpool, OH as a machinist during WWII; then the Steubenville Foundry as a machinist; then was a receptionist for Doc Porter; and finally worked for Nicholson Fine Foods in Mingo. She was a member of Kolmont Community Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Surviving are seventeen nieces and nephews; twenty eight great-nieces and nephews; thirty great-great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Roger Wayne, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, Ohio.
